నిత్య పూజా విధానం Puja (Worship)
పూజకు కావలసినవి :
ఇష్టమైన దేవతా మూర్తుల (ఫోటోలు)ను, చక్కగా అలంకరించిన పీట మీద ఉంచుకోవాలి.
Place a photo or idol of the deity to be worshipped on a decorated platform.
నీటితో నింపిన పంచపాత్ర, ఉద్ధరణి లేదా ఒకగ్లాసు, చెంచా.
Panchapatra or tumbler with water and uddharini or spoon.
ఒక కప్పు One cup
గంట Bell
పూల పళ్ళెం Flowers in tray
అగరబత్తులు Agarbathi
పెద్ద దీపారాధన కుంది Big lamp
చిన్న దీపారాధన కుందులు Small lamp
పసుపు, కుంకుం మరియు గంధం Sandal paste and kunkumam
తమలపాకులు,వక్కలు Betal leaves and nuts
కర్పూరం బిళ్ళలు ఒక ప్లేటులో Camphor in a plate
అక్షింతలు : (బియ్యములో అరచెంచా పసుపు, కొద్దిగా నీరు వేసి కలిపి అక్షింతలు తయారు చేసుకోవాలి.) నిత్య పూజకు అక్షింతలు కావాలంటే నీటికి బదులుగా నేతి చుక్కలు వేసి కలిపి ఉంచుకోవాలి.
Aksata Spoons of raw rice mixed with half a spoon of turmeric powder and one spoon of water. In case of nitya puja this can be prepared for a week’s use or so with ghee.
నైవేద్యమును Naivedyam తయారు చేసుకొని ఉంచుకోవాలి. నైవేద్యము కోసం పండ్లు, కొబ్బరికాయలు, పులిహోర, పొంగలి, అన్నం, పాలు మొదలైనవి ఇలా ఏవి పెట్టదలచుకున్నామో అవి.
Naivedyam any one or more of the following can be offered. Fruits/coconuts/puffed rice/candy/cooked rice/milk or any other dish specially prepared for the puja.
పూజ చేసే విధానము Preparation
దేవుడిని తూర్పు దిక్కున , పీటపైన ఉంచి అలంకరించాలి.
Keep the photo or idol of the deity facing east. Decorate the deity.
దీపారాధన చేసి , అగరొత్తులు వెలిగించాలి.
Light the big lamp and agarbathi.
పెద్ద దీపారాధన కుంది దేవునికి ఎడమవైపు తూర్పు ముఖముగా ఉంచవలెను.
The big lamp can be kept facing east on the left side of the deity.
పూజా సామాగ్రిని అందుబాటులో ఉంచుకొని పూజ దగ్గర కుర్చోవాలి.
Keep all materials required around you within your reach.
దేవుని ముందు ఒక చిన్న గిన్నెను ఉంచుకోవాలి.
Keep the cup in front of the deity on the left side.
పూజ చేసేటప్పుడు మీకు నచ్చిన విధంగా ఉత్తరం వైపు కుర్చొని, పూజ చేసుకోవచ్చు .
Seat yourself in a comfortable posture on a asanam facing north.
పంచపాత్ర, ఉద్దరణి మీ ముందు ఉంచుకోవాలి.
Keep the panchapatra and uddharini in front of you.
ఇప్పుడు దేవునికి షోడశోపచారాలతో కూడిన పూజ చేయడం మొదలు పెడదాము.

ఆచమనమ్ Aachamanam
ఒక్కొక్క మంత్రము చదువుతూ ఉద్దరణి తో నీరు తీసుకుని త్రాగవలెను.
Take a sip of water after chanting each of the following mantras

విఘ్నేశ్వర ధ్యానమ్ Vigneswara Dhyanam
నుదిటిన మొట్టికాయలు (మొటికలు) వేసుకుంటూ క్రింది శ్లోకాన్ని చదువుకోవాలి.
Lightly tap the temples with the knuckles, chanting the following mantras:
శుక్లాం బరధరం విష్ణుం శశివర్ణం చతుర్భుజమ్ |
ప్రసన్నవదనం ధ్యాయేత్ సర్వవిఘ్నోపశాన్తయే ||
ప్రాణాయామము Pranayama
కుడిబ్రొటన వ్రేలుతో కుడివైపు ముక్కు మూసి ,ఎడమవైపు ముక్కు రంధ్రం ద్వారా గాలిని తీసుకుంటూ క్రింది మంత్రం చదువుకోవాలి.
While closing the right nostril with the right thumb, inhale through the left nostril chanting mentally:

Hold the breath inside and then chant

ఎడమ ముక్కును ఉంగరం వ్రేలు తో మూసి, గాలిని కుడి ముక్కు రంధ్రం ద్వారా వదలాలి.
Closing the left nostril with the ring finger and exhale through the right nostril chanting mentally
ఓం ఆపో జ్యోతీరసోఽమృతం బ్రహ్మ భూర్భువస్సువరోమ్ ||
ఆసనపూజ Asana Pooja
పృథ్వి త్వయా ధృతా లోకా: దేవి త్వం విష్ణునా ధృతా |
త్వం చ ధారయ మాం దేవి పవిత్రం కురు చాసనమ్ ||
శ్లోకం చదువుకొని కుర్చున్నచోట అక్షింతలు వేసుకోవాలి.
ఘణ్టాపూజ Bell Pooja
ఆగమార్ధమ్ తు తేవానామ్ గమనా్ర్ధమ్ తు రక్షసామ్ |
కుర్వే ఘణ్టారవమ్ తత్ర దేవతాహ్వాన లాంచనమ్ ||
కుడిచేత్తో గంట కొట్టి పూలు, కుంకుమ, అక్షింతలు చల్లాలి.
కలశపూజ Kalasa Pooja
గంగే చ యమునే చైవ గోదావరి సరస్వతి |
నర్మదే సింధు కావేరి జలేఽస్మిన్ సన్నిధిం కురు ||
కలశానికి గంధం,బొట్టు పెట్టి, కలశం లో పూలు, తులసి దళం వేయాలి.
ఆత్మపూజ Atma Pooja
నమస్కార ముద్ర లో క్రింది శ్లోకం చెప్పాలి.
దేవో దేవాలయః, ప్రోక్తః, జీవో దేవస్సనాతనః
త్యజేధ ఙ్ఞాన నిర్మాల్యం సోహం భావేన పూజయేత్ ||
కలశోధకేన దైవం ఆత్మానం పూజా ద్రవ్యాణి సంప్రోక్ష్య
పై విధంగా చెపుతూ పంచపాత్రలోని నీరు తనమీద, పూజా ద్రవ్యాలమీద చల్లాలి.
Sprinkle the water on deity, pooja dhavya and self.
Sankalpa
రెండు చేతులు దగ్గరగా చేర్చుకొని, కుడి చేయి పైకి ఉండేలా ఉంచుకొని క్రింది విధంగా చెప్పుకోవాలి. చేతిలో పూలు, అక్షింతలు తీసుకొని క్రింది విధంగా చెప్పాలి.
Clasp your hands together, keeping the right hand above and chant the following.

విశేషతః మనం ఏ ఉద్దేశంతో (కోరిక కోసం) పూజ చేసుకుంటున్నామో ఆ విషయం చెప్పుకోవాలి.
పై విధంగా పూజ నిర్వర్తించాలి.
కాని ప్రత్యేకంగా ఏ దేవునికైనా పూజ చేస్తుంటే ఈ విధంగా చేయాలి.
The following verses are common for any deity puja . (But there are specific verses for specific deity)
ఆవాహనమ్ Avahana
పూలను గంధం లో ముంచి తర్వాత అక్షింతలు అద్ది ఈ విధంగా పూజ చేయాలి
ఏ దేవునిని కొలుస్తున్నామో ఆ దేవుని పేరు ముందు…... దేవతామ్ చేర్చి పూజ చేయాలి. తరువాత పూలు, అక్షింతలు దేవునికి రెండు చేతులతో మనసారా సమర్పించాలి.
ఆయా దేవుళ్ళకు సంబంధించిన పాటలు, అష్టోత్తరాలు, శ్లోకాలతో పూజ చేసుకోవాలి.
(ఏదేవునికి పూజ చేస్తున్నామో ఆ దేవుని పేరు చెప్పి దేవతామ్ ఆవాహయామి అనాలి.)

ముందుగా గణపతి పూజ చేసిన తర్వాత ప్రత్యేక దేవతా పూజ చేసుకోవాలి.
Take some flowers dipped in sandal paste and aksata and chant the following. Add the name of the deity before the word devata am. Then put the flowers over the photo or idol with both hands.
Chant any sloka connected to the deity
క్రింది శ్లోకాలు చెప్పుకున్న తరువాత కొన్ని పువ్వులను దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద సమర్పించాలి.
After chanting the following, offer some flowers at the feet of the deity
ఆసనం Asanam
అనేకరత్నఖచితం ముక్తామణివిభూషితమ్ |
స్వర్ణసింహాసనం చారు దదామి ప్రతిగృహ్యతామ్ ||

గంగాదిసరిదానీతం గన్ధపుష్పసమన్వితమ్ |

పాద్యమ్ సమర్పయామి అంటూ దేవుని ముందు ఉంచిన కప్పు లో ఉద్దరణి తో నీళ్ళు తీసుకొని దేవునికి చూపిస్తూ వదలాలి.

నానానదీసమానీతం గన్ధపుష్పాక్షతైర్యుతమ్ |
గృహాణార్ఘ్యం మయా దత్తం సువర్ణకలశస్తితమ్ ||

నానానదీసమానీతం శీతలం విమలం శుభమ్ |
ఆచమ్యతాం తోయమిదం మయా భక్త్యా సమర్పితమ్ ||

అంటూ దేవుని ముందు ఉంచిన కప్పు లో ఉద్దరణిి తో నీళ్ళు తీసుకొని దేవునికి చూపిస్తూ కప్పులో వదలాలి.

స్నానమ్ Snanam
గంగాది పుణ్యపానీయ గన్ధపుష్పాక్షతైర్యుతమ్ |
తోయమేతత్ సుఖస్పర్శ స్నానార్థం ప్రతిగృహ్యతామ్ ||
***స్నానం సమర్పయామి***
దేవుని మీద పూలతో నీళ్ళు చల్లాలి. స్నానానంతరం ఆచమనీయం సమర్పయామి. అని చెప్పుకుంటూ ఉద్దరణితో నీళ్ళను తీసుకొని దేవునికి చూపిస్తూ కప్పులో వదలాలి.
Sprinkle water on the deity. After chanting the following offer a spoonful of water in the cup
వస్త్రమ్ Vastram
శ్లోకము చదివిన తర్వాత దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద పూలు లేదా అక్షింతలు ఉంచాలి.
After chanting the following offer some flowers or aksata at the feet of the deity.
దుకూలవస్త్రయుగలం ముక్తాజాలసమన్వితమ్ |
భక్త్యార్పితం గృహాణ త్వం స్వర్ణసూత్రవినిర్మితమ్ ||

యఙ్ఞోపవీతం Yagnopaveetham
క్రింది శ్లోకం చెప్పుకున్న తరువాత దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద పూలు కాని అక్షింతలు కాని ఉంచాలి.
After chanting the following, officer some flowers or aksata at the feet of the deity.
రజతం బ్రహ్మసూత్రం చ కాంచనం చోత్తరీయకమ్ |
యజ్ఞోపవీతం విధినా దదామి ప్రతిగృహ్యతామ్ ||
***యజ్ఞోపవీతం సమర్పయామి***
గన్ధమ్ Gandham
క్రింది శ్లోకం చెప్పుకున్న తరువాత దేవునికి గంధం బొట్టు పెట్టాలి. లేదా పువ్వులను గంధం లో ముంచి దేవునికి సమర్పించాలి.
After chanting the following, apply sandal paste of the forehead of the deity or place a flower dipping in sandal paste.
చన్దనాగరు-కర్పూర-కస్తూరీ-కుంకుమాన్వితమ్ |
దివ్యం సుగన్ధం దాస్యామి ప్రీత్యర్థం ప్రతిగృహ్యతామ్ ||
***గన్ధాన్ ధారయామి***
గన్ధస్యోపరి హరిద్రాకుంకుమం సమర్పయామి
క్రింది శ్లోకం చెప్పిన తరువాత దేవునికి కుంకుమ బొట్టు పెట్టాలి. లేదా పువ్వులను కుంకుమలో అద్ది దేవుని పాదాలవద్ద ఉంచాలి.
After chanting the following, apply kunkumam over the sandal paste on the forehead of the deity or place a flower dipped in kunkumam.
అక్షతాన్ Akash Than
ఈ శ్లోకము చెప్పుకొని దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద అక్షింతలు ఉంచాలి.
After chanting the following, office some aksata at the feet of the deity
అక్షతాన్ ధవలాన్ దివ్యాన్ శాలీయాన్ తణ్డులాన్ శుభాన్ |
హరిద్రాచుర్ణసంయుక్తాన్ గృహాణేమాన్ మయార్పితాన్ ||
***అక్షతాన్ సమర్పయామి***
పుష్పమ్ Pushpam
ఈ క్రింది విధంగా శ్లోకము చదువుకొని దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద పూలు చల్లాలి.
After chanting the following, offer some flowers at the feet of deity
సుగన్ధీని చ పుష్పాణి జాతికున్దముఖాని చ్ |
తులసీ బిల్వపత్రాణి మాల్యాని చ దదామ్యహమ్ ||
***పుష్పణి సమర్పయామి***
***పుష్పై:పూజయామి.అని మరలా పూలు చల్లాలి.**
అర్చనా Archana
దేవుని పేరు చెపుతూ దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద పూలు వేస్తూ మంత్రాలు(108,1000) చదువుకోవాలి.
Chant the name of the deity offer flowers at the feet of the deity. This can be repeated as many times as time permits with the same name or different names. If more time is available regular archana with 108 names or 1000 names can be performed.
ధూపమ్ Offering Incense
అర్చన అయిన తరువాత గంట కొడుతూ, అగరొత్తుల ధూపం దేవునికి చూపించి ప్రక్కన (స్టాండ్)లో పెట్టాలి.
క్రింది శ్లోకం చదువుకోవాలి.
After chanting or while chanting the following , take the agarbathi near the face of the deity and keep it back. While doing this, ring the bell with the left hand or someone else can also ring.
దశాఙ్గం గుగ్గులోపితం సుగన్ధం చ మనోహరమ్ |
ఆఘ్రేయ: సర్వదేవానాం ధూపోఽయం ప్రతిగృహ్యతామ్ ||
***ధూపమాఘ్రాపాయామి***
దీపమ్ Deepam
ఈ శ్లోకాన్ని చదువుతూ దేవుని ముందు ఉంచిన చిన్న దీపారాధన కుందులలో జ్యోతులను గంట కొడుతూ వెలిగించాలి.
After chanting or while chanting the following , show the lighted small lamp in front of the deity. Ring the bell as before.
సాజ్యమ్ త్రివర్తిసంయుక్తం వహ్నినా యోజితం మయా |
గృహాణ మంగళం దీపం త్రైలోక్యతిమిరాపహమ్ ||
***దీపం దర్శయామి***
***ధూపదీపానన్తరం ఆచమనీయం సమర్పయామి***
ఈ క్రింది శ్లోకం చదవిన తరువాత దేవునికి ఉద్దరణి తో నీళ్ళను చూపుతూ కప్పులో వదలాలి.
After chanting the following, offer a spoonful of water in the cup
నైవేద్యమ్ Nivedyam
నైవేద్య పదార్ధాల మీద నీళ్ళు చల్లుతూ ఈ శ్లోకాన్ని చదువుకోవాలి.
Sprinkle water on the food while chanting
ఓం భూర్భువసువ: | ఓం తత్సవితుర్వరేణ్యమ్ | భర్గో దేవస్య ధీమహి |
ధీయో యో న: ప్రచోదయాత్ ||
గంట కొడుతూ పువ్వును తీసుకొని నైవేద్య పదార్ధాలను దేవునకు చూపిస్తూ ఆస్వాదింప చేస్తూ క్రింది 6 మంత్రాలను చదువుకోవాలి.
Ring the bell and offer the antifield food with a flower in hand, with a sweeping motion from the food up towards the altar, for each of these six chants.

చదివిన తరువాత, ఉద్దరణితో నీళ్ళు తీసుకుని దేవునికి చూపించాలి. నైవేద్యానన్తరమ్ ఆచమనీయం సమర్పయామి అనాలి.
Offer water while chanting
తాంబూలం: Offering betel leaves and nuts
దేవుని ముందు తమలపాకులు, వక్కపొడి మరియు అరటి పండ్లుతో తాంబూలం పెట్టాలి. తాంబూలం మీద ఉద్ధరణితో నీళ్ళు చల్లాలి. క్రింది విధంగా చదువుతూ దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద పూలు పెట్టాలి.
Place betel leaves and nuts in front of the deity and pour a spoonful of water on the betal leaves. After chanting the following, offer flowers at the feet of the deity symbolically
పూగీపలసమాయుక్తం నాగవల్లీదళైర్యుక్తమ్ |
కర్పురచూర్ణసంయుక్తం తాంబూలం ప్రతిగృహ్యతామ్ ||
***తాంబూలం సమర్పయామి***
హారతి:Karpura-Neerajanam
హారతి పళ్ళెం/స్టాండ్ లో కర్పూరం బిళ్ళలు వేసి వెలిగించి గంట కొడుతూ క్లాక్ వైజ్(సవ్య దిశ)లో మూడు సార్లు త్రిప్పుతూ ఈ మంత్రం చదువు కోవాలి.
Lighted camphor Standing, show the camphor with circular clockwise motion three times, simultaneously ring the bell with the left hand and chant.
న తత్ర సూర్యో భాతి న చన్ద్రతారకం నేమా విద్యుతో భన్తి కుతోఽయమ్గ్ని: |
తమేవభాన్తమనుభాతి సర్వ తస్య భాసా సర్వమిదం విభాతి ||
***కర్పూరనీరాజనం సన్దర్శయామి***
దేవునికి నీళ్ళు చూపి గిన్నె లో వదలాలి. దేవుని పాదాల వద్ద పూలు ఉంచాలి.
Offer a spoonful of water in the cup while chanting
మంత్రపుష్పం mantra pupsham
పూలు చేతిలో ఉంచుకొని క్రింది శ్లోకం చదివిన తరువాత దేవుని పాదాల ముందు పూలు సమర్పించాలి.
After chanting the following, offer some flowers at the feet of the deity.
జాతీచమ్పక-పున్నగ-మల్లికా-వకులాదిభి: |
పుష్పాంజలి ప్రదాస్యామి కృపయా ప్రతిగృహ్యతామ్ ||
***మంత్రపుష్పం సమర్పయామి.***
ఈ శ్లోకం చదివిన తరువాత కొన్ని పూలు దేవుని పాదాలు వద్ద వేయాలి.
సువర్ణ మంత్ర పుష్పం సమర్పయామి.
After chanting the following , offer some flowers at the feet of the deity.
ప్రదక్షిణనమస్కారము : Circumambulation and Prostration
దేవుని చుట్టూ గాని,రెండు చేతులు జోడించి మన చుట్టూ మనం గాని 3 ప్రదక్షిణాలు తిరగుతూ క్రింది శ్లోకము చదువుతూ చేయాలి.
After chanting or while chanting the following, go round the deity or turn around yourself three times in clockwise direction and prostate.
యాని కాని చ పాపాని జన్మాన్తరకృతాని చ |
తాని తాని వినశ్యన్తి ప్రదక్షిణపదే పదే ||
ప్రకృష్ట-పాపనాశాయ ప్రకృష్ట-ఫలసీద్ధయే |
ప్రదక్షిణం కరోమ్యద్య ప్రసీదానుగృహాణ చ ||
అన్యథా-శరణం నాస్తి త్వమేవ శరణం మమ |
తస్మాత్ కారుణ్యభావేన రక్ష రక్ష కృపానిధే ||
***ప్రదక్షిణ నమస్కారం సమర్పయామి***(అనంత కోటి నమస్కారం సమర్పయామి. అని భావిస్తూ చెప్పుకోవాలి.)
క్షమా - ప్రార్థనా Kshama Prarthana
క్షమించమని అర్ధిస్తూ ఈ మంత్రం చెప్పుకోవాలి.
To seek forgiveness, one may chant.
మంత్రహీనం క్రియాహీనం భక్తిహీనం మహేశ్వర |
యత్పూజితం మయా దేవ పరిపూర్ణం తదస్తు తే |
యదక్షరపదభ్రష్టం మాత్రాహీనం తు యద్భవేత్|
తత్సర్వం క్షమ్యతాం దేవ ప్రసీద పరమేశ్వర ||
విసర్గబిన్దుమాత్రాణి పదపాదాక్షరాణి చ |
న్యూనాని చాతిరిక్తాని క్షమస్వ పరమేశ్వర ||
యథాస్థానమ్ Yadhastanam
కొన్ని పూలు గంధంలో ముంచి అక్షింతలు తీసుకుని ఈ విధంగా చెప్పాలి.
Take some flowers dipped in sandal-paste and aksata and chant the following.
దేవుని పేరు చెబుతూ పూలు, అక్షింతలు సమర్పిస్తూ పూజ సమాప్తము అని భావిస్తూ క్రింది విధంగా చెప్పుకోవాలి.
Add the name of the deity before the word devata. Then put the flowers over the photo or idol with both hands. Ring the bell with the right hand indicating the end of the puja.
శ్లోకం :
అనయా పూజయా భగవాన్ సర్వాత్మక: సుప్రీత: సుప్రన్న: వరదో భూత్వా మాం సదా అవతు మమ్ సర్వాభీష్ట ప్రసీదతామ్
***దేవతాం యథాస్థానం ప్రతిష్ఠాపయామి***
సమర్పణమ్ Dedication to Lord
ఉద్దరణితో నీళ్ళు తీసుకొని దేవునికి చూపిస్తూ గిన్నెలో నీళ్ళు వదలాలి. క్రింది శ్లోకం చదువు కోవాలి.
కాయేన వాచా మనసేన్దియైర్వా బుద్ధ్యాత్మనా వా ప్రకృతేస్స్వభావాత్ |
కరోమి యద్యత్ సకలం పరస్మై నారాయణాయేతి సమర్పయామి ||
After taking a spoonful of water on the right palm, chant the following and pour the water in front of the deity and prostrate.with this the puja is over. Take a spoonful of water from the cup kept in from of the deity.
స్వస్తి శ్లోకాలు :
స్వస్తి ప్రజాభ్యాః పరిపాలయన్తాం, న్యాయేన మార్గేణ మహీం మహీశాః |
గోబ్రహ్మణేభ్య శుభమస్తు నిత్యం, లోకాః సమస్తః సుఖినో భవన్తు ||
కాలే వర్షతు పర్జన్యః, పృథ్వీ సస్యశా
దేశోయం క్షోభరహితః, బ్రహ్మణాః సన్త
నిర్భయాః ||
ఓం సర్వే భవన్తు సుఖినః
సర్వే సన్తు నిరామయాః |
సర్వే భద్రాణి పశ్యన్తు
మా కశ్చిద్ దుఃఖభాగ్ భవేత్ ||
అసతోమా సద్గమయ తమసోమా జ్యోతిర్గమయ |
మృత్యోర్మా అమృతం గమయ ||
ఓం శాంతి శాంతి శాంతిః…...
దేవుని వద్ద ఉంచిన గిన్నెలోని నీళ్లను తీర్ధం గా తీసుకొని, పూలు పెట్టుకొని, ప్రసాదం తీసుకున్న తరువాత అందరికి పంచాలి.
Pour it on your right palm and sip it as prasadam from the Lord. Similarly take some flowers from the feet of the Lord as prasadam. The naivedyam offered to the Lord also can be taken as prasadam.
పూజ సమాప్తమయినది.
(నిత్య పూజా విధానం లో ప్రతిది మన శక్తి కొలది చేయాలి. ఏమైన దొరకనప్పుడు అక్షింతలు సమర్పిస్తూ ఆయా వస్తువులుగా భావించాలి.)
